Topic:people should buy things that are made in their own country even if the price of these products is higher than than that of the products made in other countries.
Some people hold that one should buy things that are made in their own country regardless of the price and they point out that it will accelerate the development of their country’s economy and boost more prosperity and social progress. But, I don’t see eye to eye with them and I insist that buying goods just from their own country will result in adverse consequences in the long term. Many unexpected impacts will be laid on the purchaser, manufacturers, or even the country.
First of all, as for the purchasers, they regard the action of buying things from their own country as patriotism. However, they may buy something expensive and even without the permission of good quality because of their chauvinism. Besides ,they don’t realize that we are living in a world relying on each other and a lot of things are made by cooperation. A case in point is the mobile phone. secondly, take the manufacturers into consideration,buying commodities from our own country will to some degree benefit the producers. But , in the long term, the manufacturers could not survive without the fierce competition for they don’t reform their system and develop the new technology to keep pace with their adversaries and they are just indulged in self-admiration. As a result, it will be a destruction for the producers. thirdly, if all the countries’ people take the same action to protect their country’s economy, it will result in disputes, conflicts,or even wars among different countries,Which will hinder the development of globalization and weaken the relationship among different countries.
From the foregoing, a natural conclusion can be drawn that it is not wise for people buy things that are made in their own country without taking all the factors above into consideration. Only when we make choices rationally will a benign chain of the country’ economy come into being.
